The fourth Studio Ultimate Eye production.

The title translates rougly to "A Day without love". This has a twist, however (gasp!). Firstly, "lempi" does not exactly mean "love"; it might not always be as "deep" as love, but it often includes a closer mutual closeness and/or friendship. Secondly "Lempi" is also a Finnish woman's name. A good ol' double meaning there.

In fact, we were thinking of a name for this flick, but couldn't come up with one that we all three - Nahkis, Tenshin and me - would have been satisfied with. Eventually Tenshin (I think) suggested that we should check whose name day that day was when we shoot the movie, pick that name, and add "Päivä ilman" before it. Incidentally that name was Lempi, which was more than appropriate. Kinda...

This short was our entrant to the JumaLAN '07 Wild Compo. AND we were freakin' second placers once again. We lost to the same guy as in the last time we participated. He even had used the exact same idea in his video as previously. If you're reading this Ronto: SHAME ON YOU! Well, I've got to admit: it was quite an excellent video, albeit the concept being pretty much the same as in last two years. Besides, he promised that it will be the last of that line of pruducts, so I guess I'll forgive him.

Anyways, this was again quite an experimental video for us, and I was actually quite surprised we were even the runner-ups, as this wasn't exactly supposed to be a grand crowd pleaser. The only gripe I have with this is that we drifted to the right corner of the screen all the time instead of waving right and left as was the original idea. But the idea is still the same, and it still works pretty well in my opinion.

Concept, soundtrack, editing, acting (the one without fire): me.
Additional ideas (e.g. name for the movie), acting (the one with the Zippo): Tenshin.
Camera, cues, additional ideas, equipment, financing*: Nahkis (we gotta get you in FRONT of the camera next time).

*This was definitely our most expensive movie, as Nahkis had to buy a new memory card for his camera. The first take was ruined, as the original card ran out of capacity. In fact, it held something like 16 megs (or was it 8?)... Tells something about our production values, I guess.
