FOR FULL VOLKSWAGEN CC ARTICLE @ INSIDELINE.COM:

There are plenty of people who would like the 2009 Volkswagen CC a lot better if it were ugly. Isn't a VW supposed to be ugly?

Hardly anyone has firsthand memories of the Volkswagen Bug anymore, and yet the lumpy little People's Car follows VW around like some kind of family curse, reminding everybody of a time when everything about Volkswagen seemed wacky and comically futuristic, like a science fiction movie of the 1950s. The fatal flaw of the 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton might not have really been its $66,700 price point but instead its refusal to embrace the Beetle's stereotype.

Of course, this is the very strength of the 2009 Volkswagen CC. It's really, really stylish and yet it still has the soul of a plain, practical sedan meant for our times of frugality and fuel-efficiency.

  • I have owned two American cars, one Japanese and one Volkswagen (German)... the VW is BY FAR the best, most reliable car I have ever owned... by far.

  • @emacemacii I see it too. But then again, every hyundai is a shamless copy of some other car lol.

  • @a6km bonnet? i believe you mean "Hood" ..... a bonnet is something women from the 1800's wore on the head... american english is LIGHTYEARS ahead of british english

  • US VW and European VW are not the same cars they look the same but underneath the bonnet EU VW are light years ahead.

  • @phunkyphoxx That and the Equus which was voted by a publication or two to beat the S-class in bang for buck.

  • @Turbo2012Sonata I know that, my comment was 2 years ago. By the way, the 2.0T engine from VW was in the list from 2006 to 2010 even tho I thought it was in the list for 2011. Great for Hyundai, but the 2.0T found in the Genesis and Sonata has never been in the list. Only the 5.0 is in it and honestly, I found the 5.6L V8 from Infiniti as well as V8's from german brands to be a lot better than the Tau V8 because they are smoother and seems to be more powerful.

  • @maxou5757 Looking at Ward's 11" list, the Hyundai 5.0 is on the list, the only Volkswagen engine on there is the 2.0T Diesel engine. Not the gas. Not saying its not a good engine, its just definitely not the only efficient engine. And Hyundai isn't *korean* crap anymore either.

  • @Turbo2012Sonata a lot more than the 2.0T crap in this car? You mean the engine that's in the list for one of the ten best engines in the world for 5 years? There's a reason why it's in the list. You dont need 274hp to do 0-60 in 6 seconds!

  • @maxou5757 Your comment sounds kinda stupid now. My 2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T makes 274HP on regular and 284HP on Premium. A lot more than the 2.0T crap in this car, and almost as much HP as the inefficient 3.6L CC, all getting 22/34. Thats pretty damn efficient, and I have clocked mine to 60 real world in 5.8

  • I drove the Accord V6 and Sonata 2.0t. Neither compared to the CC. Just leased an R Line for no money down, $373 month including tax, 12000 miles per year. Beautiful car. Would like a little better stereo. Wish it came with a Bose.

  • Why people buy hyundais is because they are cheaper and for that price range..they have usually more to offer than comparison cars.....for the taurus..that car is ugly and I don't care if if can get to 60 faster because I am sure a girl will hop in my cc quicker than your FORD TAURUS so shut up...and for the idiot who sees more hyundais is because the average person can not afford a cc you stupid

  • Stop your biased unrational and poorly informed trolling people. I love my 3.6 CC but hey - hyundai is really stepping up FAST. nice cars for a bargain price. I wouldn't change my VW to that at the moment since i love everything about it. from an objective point of view, if i didn't love it that much and would plan to trade it in, a hyundai genesis with the new 5.0 V8 would definitely be on the "have to test drive" list.
