2000 BMW 328i quick tour

This is a quick tour showing my car and a few things that have been of interest in the forums. Note: the exhaust is quite a bit louder in real life, as most of you know capturing an exhaust's true sound is very hard. I only went up to 4500rpm but wide open this thing screams!

Please excuse my voice, I'm getting over a flu right now and being on a bit of drugs I do seem slightly sluggish! :)

I did find something very interesting about the idle issues that seem to be common in the E46. During the filming of this I had A/C on. You'll hear in it the idle surges quite a few times in only a few minutes. After I left the car running, rolled the windows up, turned the A/C off and went inside to upload my clip. Went outside and for the 3-4 minutes I was standing there, the car not once surged. I had noticed this before once but never really thought much of it. But now, I'm sure, the idle issues have something to do with the A/C. I've done a ton of stuff to my engine and it has either helped the idle issue a bit or made my car run smoother or happier. When I first got it, it used to actually stall when the idle would surge on a cold morning. Now, it's running fantastic compared to that and I just think I might have found the one thing that could fix this issue for good! If you've got an E46 with the idle issue, give this a shot. Make sure your car is warmed up, experiment a bit with having it idle with A/C on and then turn A/C off. See what you find. Hopefully this helps you because I know this idle issue is very annoying to E46 drivers!

I have a 1999 328i (one of my videos) with ASC and it had DSC as an option. What does the sticker say?

where does the straight pipe u have connect to the stock system? does it run all the way and connect to the manifold?

i don't know anything about modifications, but i have a 2000 328i automatic trans. and it is not much quicker than the 65' vw bug i used to have. i drove a 2001 recently and what a difference. the 01' is light years quicker. my next bmw will be an 01' or newer, for sure; meanwhile, i'll have to figure an inexpensive way to grind out a few more hp out of this sluggish 2000.

@assassin72 it's not too bad actually. BMWs are just expensive when you need to replace parts. the one thing that bugs me is the idle issue which you'll see in another one of my videos (italy430), and you can hear it in this video. I've kinda figured out it has to do with the A/C being on and it would prob cost a lot of money to fix or first find out exactly what to do. it runs just fine and so im not gonna spend the money on that.

i have a 2000 328i. no mods at all. its a dog. it looks very nice, i.e. 17" wheels, but the 01' is a much better car and light years quicker. trust me. i drove one and couldnt believe the huge difference. go with an 01' or newer.
