But I'd like to state that the religious harm is caused by the Maccabees, who ultimately disabled the Hellenization of the Jews. If they hadn't succeeded (and they were almost to be crushed) there wouldn't even be Christianity nor Islam and Judaism would be gone as well.

@coolhaztech yes i know what light pollution is, im just being a smartass, cause a previous person said the sky would be black if the industrial revolution started sooner, in no way recognizing that it would not have ended the same way it did if it had started sooner and just assuming it would have gone the entire time and history would otherwise be unchanged, so i was being a smartass i know why there is not many stars to see at night in a city

A major problem is how the bullshit is deeply entrenched into western society. Add in the effects of statism since its birth (between 5000 and 7500 years ago), and we've probably been held back for at least 6000 years, not the 1200 estimated in this video.

@vspqbd Of course, statism and religion were inextricably linked. I don't know of any secular states before the Enlightenment.
