  • That's true, but old games like System Shock still own newer games on any platform in my opinion.

  • PC owns consoles cause it has emulators :D

Now that I established my point, might I suggest that next time, mention games that are relevant to the style of gameplay at hand. Citing classic games of irrelevant genre that are more than worth living for and praising them for the sake of self glorification is just a waste of energy.

"YES" sounds pretty vague to me. Be a bit more explicit if you want your argument to hold ground. You think that modern popamole system would preserve the pace that the story is being told...SS is a game driven by tedious exploration in a setting that demands repetition and patience. The way the controls are implemented wherein the character controls the reticle without affecting the movements constitutes an important aspect to the pace of the game.

  • @YoknapatawphaKid

So why are you calling for a remake that would most likely feature next gen controls in the style of the source engine which would utterly change the pace of the game and turn it into a fast paced popamole?

You do know that the classic controls s serve more than the purpose of a floating gun. They set the pace of the game in many ways more than one. But, are you sure you want to make the SS series a sellout to this generation of weeaboos? Or as a SS fan, are you that insecure?

So, please do me the favor of not equating me with the litany of brain-dead gamers who have all but destroyed the industry; it demeans us both. Now, that being said, it's still a ridiculous argument to defend the frustrating controls of a game as "part of the legacy." Is 'Grim Fandango' a masterpiece? YES. The writing is some of the most clever of the '90s, regardless of medium; however, is it a difficult game to control, and would modern controls better the experience? YES.

Somehow, your previous comments, libelous as they were, have been deleted (though I'll get to cherish them forever through my inbox), but your last comment says as much — allow to set the record straight and utterly demolish all of your presumptions. I am by no means a conventional gamer. I'm more apt to spend my time playing 'Chrono Trigger,' 'Grim Fandango,' 'Earthbound,' 'Half-Life 2,' and the like than 'Halo' or 'COD,' which are unreal pieces of shit.

The typical next-gen graphics whore bottom feeding maggot has all the games from 2005-20XX to choose from. Let them enjoy these pathetic new games. The original SS has a legacy of challenging controls and obscure graphics that add to the atmosphere of the game. Plus I would hate to see a streamlined remake being tossed around by scene kids. What we need is a SS3 not a overhauled SS.
