you can also get YARN ( its thicker and works better) and fold it so each end are touching then keep doing that untill it about 3 inc. long cut both ends so you have lots of equil peices of yarn then tie string around it (optonel) then tie that to a rod

Round objects such as the little circles that come off of juice lids tied on a string are great cat toys as well. Also, don't be afraid to pick up feathers you see outside, they have that outdoors smell cats love and they aren't actually nearly as "dirty" or germ covered as some people think.
