u see using your eyes just dont work .... u gotta put the water in a test-tube and THEN analyse the content to see just how radical the changes have been .... thats why scientists use microscopes .... or astrologers telescopes .... they found out long long ago that there is actually stuff out there that we CANT see with our eyes ...

@gbraud Hi, Gerard. I like your comment to jeffmoto72 regarding how if there is a patch of oil, there would be 200 reporters checking it out in minutes. But since there is no oil around in the beach you walk, reporters don't care. News is the unusual, not the common. Most beaches are probably clean around the Gulf Coast, but most people wouldn't know it because the newspapers, television stations, and, yes, SM, prefer to talk about the spots where the oil is.

I'll pass on your radio show. I'm on air every weekday at drive time on a no market station in east Texas.

The cynicism and rudeness of the comments is depressing.

Same experience when we were in Pensacola (which has since changed). In the absence of oil, the beaches are FINE. The dispersants are used wayyyy out in the water and only have a shelf life of 4 days. Not a concern for beachgoers splashing 10-20 feet off the coast for a week at the most.
It looks lovely there, Gerard.
Have gone through the comments and can guess at some of your messages about using SM during a crisis. Saw this as well during Nestle's Facebook incident. Reason/facts don't necessarily have any impact on opinion/beliefs in SM channels.
Can't make it to your 'BP Blunders' session, but wish I could. Good luck with it

@paulasnap Thanks Paul. As you see here, those frustrated with BP have a "shoot the messenger" mentality. They have a single belief and reject anyone who has evidence or an opinion contrary to theirs. This is akin to shouting down a speaker at a public meeting. They also mix in bogus beliefs... i.e. in Alaska if you dig down, you can find oil. That is not the case in the Gulf at this time. They also suppose I have an agenda, other than the fact I'm just reporting what I see.

Yes people dont put your life on hold, visit another beach, like in another country,
our gulf cost and our country is in a state of emergency, people in the gulf coast are in serious health risks,
this guy is a f*cking moron and only cares about the value of his real estate.

you won't be able to just smell it .. geesh
risking your tourists health is certainly not good publicity. Won't ever be going back to Florida knowing that the states doesn't care about their tourists health.
