William and Allen were polar opposites yet civil to each other. Each a gentleman in his sphere of influence. This civility is what is needed for the world to survive,

"It was probably wrong of Buckley to be that kind to Ginsberg"

Should he have been nasty like your boyfriend BIll O'Reilly is? Why is Buckley -- founder of the modern American conservative movement -- not allowed the freedom of his own behavior?

"pro-communist, jewish, homosexual, neurotic, subversive degenerate, Leftist"

Better than being a pro-fascist, straight, pathological, goose-stepping, right wing goy.

    And "subversive"?

Atrocities are commited by those who follow orders.

This aired September 3, 1968 for those wondering :D I'm using it in a research paper for my Eastern relgs class. We have to do a 8-10pg paper on anything involving the east, so mine is called 'Good morning sunshine: How the East enlightened the counter-culture of the 60s', I'm writing on Beatles/Maharishi Yogi, use of Sitar in western 'hippie' music and Ginsberg's brilliant crossover of cultures

Allen: "Hurry, Krishna, hurry, Krishna," etc. etc.

William: "That was the most unhurried Krishna I ever heard."

    LOL!

Agreed. Politeness in my mind only strengthens the argument style. in the case of Buckley anyway, his mannerisms were polite, but his arguments were fuckin FIERCE. O'Reilly on the other hand, has unbelievably impolite mannerisms, and comparatively babyish and tame arguments.

Yes, Amen brother, Bill Buckley was a true conservative, he spins in his grave every time the radio and TV whores use his name or profess to be conservatives. Allen Ginsburg, for whatever he was, was a great poet of the "Beat" generation, don't care about his affiliations, homosexuality, or political persuasions, it doesn't add into the equation.

He was not a Communist in the usual sense. He was kicked out of Cuba and Checkeslovakia.

You could learn a lot from Buckley, who was civil and respectful even to his ideological oponants. How much we have degenerated. Rush, Sean, and the rest are not capable of inteligent discussions, or judge theire audiance incapable of understanidng them (perhaps corectly.) So instead they just scream "Shut up" every couple of minutes. I weep for america.
