Carlos Calvo Covers: Rocket Man by Elton John

This installment of my Carlos Calvo Covers project honors the great Elton John. I have loved this song since I first heard it, which probably dates close to the time of it's release. Ouch! His work, particularly in the 1970s, is equalled by very few songwriters, musicians, or bands.

Interpreting piano songs is always a unique and welcome challenge, one that I reluctantly admit confronts us with the limitations of the guitar. This makes it all the sweeter when it's pulled off successfully. I'll leave it up to you to determine if that is indeed the case. Enjoy!
