I think that happens too often all around the world. I live in Portugal (and wishing to live in Seattle) and here's a blind woman in the subways of Lisbon that begs for money. I look at her and she's like... well painted nails, great coloured hair, good clothes, Adidas backpack... And then I see people giving her money. I stay like "who's the blind one, anyway?" That freaks me out.

people just need to get a job ... same thing here in indianapolis is like that ...

I think those beggers are pretty well off, even if they don't actually have homes. I mean, a Starbucks coffee and an iphone? And if very few of them looked hungry or dirty then who would really feel sorry for them? lol Rich hobos. :P I would only help someone that actually needed help.

you are really stupid to be shocked that beggars little more than scam artists. seattle is not for greasers. if you live in seattle more than 2 years you would hate it and might get rolled on the street.

I'm thinking about moving to Seattle and it's nice to hear good feedback from outside party...especially about the people there being nice. I totally agree on the beggars though. I'm not gonna mince words. Those people are just Lazy.

Seattke is a great place to live, don't ever get caught breaking the smallest law or you will go to jail, get put on probation and never get off nad then go to prison for them finding a way to violate you on probation, really the first friends you will make in seattle are people from poverty and the best friends you will have are they and the churches are wonderful.
I would only tip street musicians but not outright beggers. This is a problem I'm seeing more of in America, everyone is begging for more money they don't earn.
