A 5 day trek beginning at Elkhart Park, encompassing Hobbs Lake, Seneca Lake, Island Lake, and the spectacular Titcomb Basin. Remarkable scenery and world class trout fishing.

  • Hey man I feel you on the music. When I first put the video up I had better music, then youtube (copyright) took it off and gave me this as a choice to replace it with. Anyhow great trip glad everyone enjoys the vid.

  • @jvp7800 campsite @ 3:50 in the vid? what lake is that? remember the name? going out there, very similar route, in a few weeks. great video thanks

  • I hiked to thumb lake two summers ago. It was a beautiful yet frustrating trip because we could see HUGE trout (either brooke or cutthroat, not really sure) but they would just swim right past our lures. We tried every fly you could possible think of, and resorted to night crawlers yet they still didn't want anything to do with us. Any suggestions anyone?

  • hey what does anyone suggest as far as bait is concerned around this area? my friend and I tried a couple different flies and later tried some lure fishing. also which lakes are good? we tried seneca and hobbs and got no bites. also, what time do the trout generally rise?

  • @Oldport1813 I was on the trip. There was shrub type vegetation with dead limbs in the basin. We cooked the fish every night but it was more challenging in Titcomb. Definitely camp in the basin if you go through there.

  • Great video. I did a similar trip except we went through the Titcomb lake basin and up over Nap Sac Col to camp at Peak Lake. From there, down Cube Rock Pass and to Granite Lake. Went up Square Top and hiked out to Green River Lakes camp ground. I've done it 13 times since 1990. The last 2 weeks of August has been ideal. Sometimes the last week of August and the first week of September. Maybe I'll see you out there. Check out my videos.

  • Did you cook your fish? Were there any trees to make fires near the basin? Would you recommend camping at Island or actually in the basin?

  • Greazly bear at 2:45.

  • Thanks for sharing this Wind River scenery, I agree though with higby303s comment about the music. I guess that seems to be a You Tube trend. It's not these kids fault, they don't know any better because they did not grow up in the 80's - the pinnacle of rock and roll.
