Up/Downgrading To 3.2 (DIFFERENT METHOD FOR 4.0! READ DESCRIPTION!) To Use Backup Launcher

ATTENTION!

If you don't have the CIOS, but have the Homebrew Channel, you can STILL downgrade. If not, stop reading this.

Follow these instruction to downgrade 4.0. I recommend 3.2 because the Twilight Hack will still not work, but if you ever lose the HBC, you can copy it back to your Wii from the SD card. Only works with 3.2.

EDIT: If you do want to update to 4.0, but not lose any features, use Waninkoko's 4.0 updater. This updater updates you to 4.0 without replacing the old IOSes with new ones, and updates the Wiishop channel with the all new SD Menu.

FAQ
Q: How come I get keep getting Error!Ret-(number) when trying to install (name).wad?
A: Try using the cIOS_249-rev6_rr.wad. It's the same as cIOS, and it worked for me. I was on 3.3 when I used this, so it might be required fr you to have it.
Q: How come cIOS_fix.wad won't install?
A: You're probably using the Wad Manager, and not the Custom one that was meant to run on IOS16 or, your Wii is not on 3.4. If it's not, use the cIOS_249-rev6_rr.wad.
Q: If there's cIOS_249-rev6_rr.wad for 3.3, and cIOS_fix.wad for 3.4, what's for 3.1?
A: I have no clue on that, but I assure you that both those .wads should work on that firmware.
Q: I am getting errors on everything.
A: You probably didn't install both .wads.
Q: How come IOS Downgrader stopped?
A: The program crashed if it's a block of text; an error occured while the installtion was taking place. Just run it again. If it still keeps doing this, fix your internet settings.
Q: Why downgrade to 3.2?
A: Because Starfall only works on 3.2. If you don't want to do the Starfall step, you don't need to. It comes in handy to skip disc updates.
Q: I'm still getting errors!
A: If you Installed the cIOS for the Backup Launcher, uninstall it. That should fix your problem(s).
Q: Can this brick your Wii
A: Yes. That's if you missuse these applications. This is at your own risk.
Q: You owe me a new Wii.
A: No, you didn't read the description. I even stated that I DO NOT take any responsibility to whatever happens to your Wii. It's your problem.
Q: Is there a way to unbrick my Wii?
A: Plug an open Gamecube controller into the Player 4 socket of your Wii console. Press Up + Down + Left + Right on the D-pad while your Wii is booting up.

Sigh. Your Wii's bar code is probably LU64+. LU64+ Wiis cannot be downgraded, as it is impossible as of now.

is it possible to downgrade from 4.3U, because thats what I have now. Let me just explain that the reason I updated in the first place was because I was following a guide in removing an error 002 for the backup launcher app. But now that I updated I cant even run the backup launcher ( goes to black screen) and I cant install the necessary wad files to remove the error. Why is hacking the wii so complicated??

There is no point in downgrading your wii! i have a 4.2e with usbloader, custom theme, custom startup, hbc, bootmii as boot1, priiloader rev4, i can watch dvds and intall things from wiishop channel for free

everytime i try to delete my WAD file it will say error for each of the three processes that goes on. I seriouslly dont get it. I did everything up until i had to delete the wad, and it wont work from this point on...any suggestions :(?
