Nova Union calls on the government to improve labor conditions so that workers are enrolled in social insurance and have stable employment.

While people debate, whether certificate or no certificate, native vs non- natives, people suffer because they are not learning the English language. I'm just giving simple suggestions since people from India and the Philippines will gladly come to Japan to teach the English language since their pay will skyrocket and great way to build stronger relationship between these countries.

  • @novajoke Although I agree that this is a great idea, most certified SEI/ESL teachers from the US, Canada, UK, etc. earn a good salary at a unionized job at home. Most are not going to want to take pay cuts or risk losing tenure with their districts just to teach overseas. Benefits and financial incentives to get these types of people need to be serious, like those offered at international and DoDDS schools. Students at Eikaiwa don't really want to pay for this type of instruction.

This is an old news but let's focus on bringing in "qualified" instructors rather than so called "I'm qualified because I look native" instructors.

Time to bring in qualified instructors from India and the Philippines who learned the language. Of course, qualified instructors are always be welcome whether candidates are native or non-native speakers.

Thank goodness I didn't go to mcEikaiwa to learn English!!
