You can use your original S&W spring and get the full +6 (9mm) but with spotty results on the lock on empty. Sometimes the follower doesn't come all the way up.
I put the Arredondo spring end into the follower. However, it is a 180 flip from the S&W spring.

@gwcrispi I agree completely, just seems like a bad idea to run the stock spring. The Arredondo spring certainly follows well.
