An onboard shot looking back along the TGS to Valenta 43016 "Peninsular Medical School", departing EXD for London Paddington on Saturday 3rd November 2007. This turned out to be her last day in service with a Valenta engine.

  • thats funny I thought trains to London Paddington depart on platform 5 not 4

  • There was engineering west of Exeter, and all trains were terminating and reversing there, so they were arriving and departing from the same platform. What you can't see from this video (but can see on Mostlyrailways Fotopic) is sister Valenta 43015 alongside in platform 5! It was a hard choice between the two, but I went with 016 and bailed at Reading...just in time to catch 43002 (see the "deafens" video!).
