it's ok, but I will say that you have to rinse about 3 times and that will take the odd taste- then you flavor it and it has a great taste then you cant tell the difference. be patient and willing to learn and you will love tvp

Shelf Reliance's TVP is absolutely amazing!!! My kids thought the chicken was bacon bits and will eat it dry or rehydrated without adding anything to it!!

How do you get rid of the water after cooking? I always pay attention to the very small steps on recipes.
To add a fish flavor, I would boil with seaweed...just an idea...need to give it a try.

@flasp11 The water goes away through cooking and stirring and being absorbed by the tvp. Adjust the amount of water you use to get the right consistency.
