By your logic, the first person to play a guitar was "ripped off" by the second person who saw him. The guitarist in The Creation didn't own the copyright to using a violin bow on a guitar, just like the person who Michael Jackson "ripped off" the moonwalk didn't own the copyright to that. It is human nature to see things and to be influenced by them....unless we live in a hermetically sealed bubble.

The way he uses the violin bow is completely different from how Jimmy Page uses it. Give Page credit, if he indeed got the idea from Eddie Philips, he at least came up with his own sounds and way of doing it. Compare what Eddie does on here with Pages work on the live Dazed and confused from the song remains the same.
