My father was admonished by his superiors for offering to give two negro soldiers a ride in his jeep in 1952. Since my father was raised in a community which included persons of color...he saw no fault in offering those soldiers a lift as they were tired and needed a ride. still he was reprimanded by his commanding officer. @alicouey Unfortunately, as a white male, I know the only way forward is back... back through the history such as this terrible incident that instructs me (and hopefully others) how things became as they are. There is no "STOP THIS!" available. We are not yet one people. What has happened since President Obama was elected illustrates that fact all too thoroughly, all too sadly. We have different names for things now... not racial categories any more but things like "socialist" or "Kenyan." Sad.
