The post office will be $7 billion in the hole for the year and they are closing hundreds of offices nationwide. Competition in "first-class mail" (envelopes to and from your mailbox) is currently illegal.

Careful what you wish for! :-) The bureaucrats would do to a public option what they've done to every other fascist industry, make it less competitive, less efficient, and ruin the overall level of quality for everyone (except maybe the well-connected)
