This is a video documenting me converting a low-capacity Bulgarian SSR-85c with a thumbhole stock into a normal-capacity SSR-85c with pistol grip. This project was done by an individual in full compliance with state and federal gun laws. It does NOT contain any information on converting a semi-auto rifle into a fully automatic rifle. Please consult the BATFE for reasons that type of conversion is a bad idea.

In the currently final video of the series, I briefly touch on a few of the modifications I've made since the second video. Included among these modifications include a Scout Scopes, Inc. scope mount and Primary Arms micro red dot sight, a Tapco slot muzzle brake, and a few lightly modified magazines. There's also a brief segment of the rifle actually being fired at my local range.

  • Hello , just found a rifle like this on but that will except Hi-capacity mag's , my question is , How difficult was the "Stock" mod ?

  • @Headshotsonly9mm Adding the stock was not hard at all. The steel is easy to drill with a sharp bit, and it's simple to tap since it's not a blind hole. The trickiest part is making sure the hole and the threads are perpendicular to the plate.

  • @Headshotsonly9mm Oops, I forgot to say thanks for watching and good luck with your rifle!

  • What are the 922r compliance parts on these if you buy them as they originally are?

  • @Cozmolyne They are imported as low-capacity rifles with thumbhole stocks and welded muzzle nuts. Since 922r does not apply (they do not have any of the enumerated "evil" features yet) all the parts are, to the best of my knowledge, imported. Once you add a pistol grip, threaded muzzle device, standard-capacity magazine, or folding/collapsible stock, THEN you play the part-swapping game. They're like WASRs in this regard.

My US parts are the stock, PG, FCG, and muzzle brake.

  • Awesome rifle. Love it!

  • @aulvalenzuela21 Thanks! It's as fun to shoot as it was to work on. Thank you for watching.
