  • @EEDiazL lol, it doesn't matter how many comp he's entered, he is still winning most of them - so it looks like he is doing just fine despite his injuries and age. He may come back next Olympics - he and Mishin are sure planning on it from what I've read, so watch out. By the way, I am not even a Plush fan.

  • @LuvLesha Suck donkey ass, who? Plushenkho still winning competitions? I'm sorry but besides 2010 Olympics, besides the one GP event and this competition, what else has he entered? How many times has he retired and come back since 2006? His name is a sure bet to Euros but Worlds? Isn't he almost 30 or so? Do you really think he might make it to the next Olympics?

  • @EEDiazL Not if "youth", the essence of change, suck donkey's ass. I can't name one young skater better than Plushenko. He is still winning competitions, so why should he move on? Young skater don't have a chance against him and it's not his fault, it's theirs.

  • @walover165 As far as I know judges aren´t trained to mark down skaters in PCS for falling or for sloppy performances, Chan benefits from system´s flaws.

Those who dislike Plushenko´s "posing" should watch other skaters, like Yu Na Kim, who was posing a lot too and was delivering amazing performances.

  • @SimonaCB Chan should be completely marked down for falling. That's the thing. The fall jars, it ruins the flow of the program, and anyone who says a fall doesn't ruin a program is kidding themselves. The audience is probably laughing because they can't believe that a world champion is so incompetent. Plushenko's posing and kisses? They add to the interpretation of the program, if you like. In this case, it was only because it was Nationals. In a program like Tango Amore they were appropriate.

  • So, in the end Chan or Plushenko or X or Y receive only two marks for their artistic performance, for execution and interpretation and both are highly subjective. Chan falls 2 times, the audience laughs, everybody´s having fun, what should judges do, give him a 10 because he entertained the audience or a 7 because the fall affected the program????? Plushenko is posing, blowing kisses, the audience likes him, what should judges do? There is no rule that prohibits such things.

  • Ok, I see a lot of opinions here, which is very good but I think we should make some things clear about PCS. The Program Component Score (PCS) does not mean artistry. PCS means both technical stuff (skating skills and transitions) and 3 other components which reward the artistic side of the program/skater: choreography, performance and interpretation. Most of skaters aren´t choreographers so basically the mark for choreography does not reflect their artistry. (to be continued)
