Punishments Handed Down for Girls Soccer Fight

Punishments have been levied following a fight at a girl's high school soccer game. Some of the girls involved will be sidelined for as few as two games, others will be out for a full calendar year. (Nov. 18)

I think its the most popular sport because it cost nearly to nothing to play. You don't need fancy equipment. all you need is a ball. You can use rocks to outline goals.

And at its very core, its a very simple game that can be picked up by anyone.

I don't know why people always say soccer isn't popular in the US. My youngest daughter went to college on a golf scholarship 14 years ago. It beats the hell out of football with it's 12 minutes of action for 3 hours of boredom. And baseball, that's like watching corn grow! Soccer is a great sport, and leave it at that. Other sports are other sports, so don't compare apples and oranges. The American vs. European nonsense is getting old. We're not only related, but we're allies. Enjoy it!

@nani1778 Anyone who thinks all it takes to succeed on the gridiron is speed is just plain retarded. Football players are some of the most athletic players on the planet. Footy is a fairly easy game, but to play it on the highest level you need a lot of skill. But that goes for any sport. However, you don't nearly need the athletic ability you need for most other sports. And this is coming from someone who used to get paid to play footy.

@shraphen if you say at its very core than if you think about it any sport at its very core can be played by anyone but football at its very core is kinda easy you take a brake every 30 sec. and takes almost no talent you just have to be fast. in soccer fast doesn't cut it, you need a lot of skill can you keep the ball at full speed in front of you? go try it :)
