i just put a weight like a foot above the end of the line and then put a small hook at the end then i put shrimp or small fish and i cast and reel in slowly always worcks

im only fourteen and not an expert but i love fishing and know alot le t me give some tips, try deep water for ex fishing off a long peir and if u use artificial bait get something that sinks but not all the way to the botom and reel in at average speed bigger bait n deep water bring bigger fish if u use live bait get good healthy strong fish and try to movet them yourself once i was fishing with live bait a i didnt catch anything but wen i was realing a fish caught it im sorry if i didnt help u

if no fish but bites then the fish r small if u want then use smaller hooks and bait if u dont try a different way
