We started touring with the Northwestern group of churches containing 6 of Lalibela's 11 churches. Cut out of rock from the top down and connected by passages and slippery steps worn down over hundreds of years, it wasn't easy navigating without doing major injury to yourself.
All UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the pink and orangey shades of rock reminded us of Petra. If you haven't visited Petra (a "must" for travelers), watch Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade and you'll see what I mean. It was impossible to see Lalibela without the feeling that we'd just stepped into the bible.
@krglongbourn I'm just a traveler who spends as much time as possible planning a trip. Even so, things still go wrong. Part of travel.

are you a travel agent or just a traveler because the trip seems to move so smoothly

@krglongbourn I've never seen anything from Ethiopia sold in America, for example, except beads. Thanks for the compliment and watching. Best regards, Travels With Sheila
