2008 UCONN Asian Nite/Night: Iranian Association performance

"Traditional dance performance by Iranian Association" during the 2008 Asian Nite held at the University of Connecticut, Jorgenson Theatre on February 23.

This video is a lot clearer in the original file but it would have taken forever to upload even on UCONN's network so I had to compress it to a smaller file type...

**Also, I'm very sorry that the performance was cut short at the end by about 30 seconds, my 512mb memory card got full!**

I haven't got the slightest idea what you said, and I haven't found a single translator online that could interpret it. Could someone help me out here with translation?

you need to better clarify the dance that you are doing...your dance in the beginning is more belly dancing...and your dance in the end is not persian either...further, understand that you do not need to expose your body when doing a persian dance..you are mixing the beauty of persian dance with MTV...i would think that an Iranian Association would know better..

Well... First of all, I'm not the one doing the dance because I just video'd it. :-)

Secondly, I named it "traditional dance" because that's what the Asian Nite Program that was handed out stated it to be.

Thirdly, I used the tags "belly dance" because that is what the MC's said the performance would have.

Anyone from the UCONN Iranian Association is welcome to contact me to correct this if the program was incorrect... but from the private messages I've received, that isn't the case.

The second performance was by far the best one, only my opinion so don't thumbs down me!!

the second dance is actually a traditional iranian dance that the women usually perform in tailored suites....we just had the guys do it this night.

i was not part of the performance but my friend was.

but, I'm sorry to say kmbingo86's is right.. the first

dance is a belly dance, with a Arabic music.. the second

dance looks like a Afghanian dance but has a Persian music..

and the third,, well that's all Persian.. but none of them

is traditional!! traditional Persian music sound more like

classical music,, these are all pop themes..

but hey,, it's not bad.. ;)
