A video I took of the live webcast (completely their property) with some cuts and edits so you can see the Boeing 747-8I (748I or 747-8 Intercontinenal)'s first landing.

  • you would think that Boeing wouldhave hired a pro production company for this event... and not this rookie...

  • @redifreddy14 yeah, the webcast camera work wasn't the best. they could have had a smoother pan instead of this choppy thing.....

  • I hate it when someone has made up their mind before considering both sides of the arguement, i personally have lots of respect for any company/ goverment that risks designing and building it own aircraft

  • @TheSimonHarris exactly, people should actually give the plane a chance first

  • i really don't get why people would diss the 747-8 so much. conservative in design, it may be, but the aesthetic is still there. besides this plane has got a lot of new things going on inside. for those making comments about cars being 30 years and blah blah blah .... you still haven't acquired the notion of what "classic" is. and why does boeing still makes the 737-800 and -900, because from a business point of view, it still generates highest revenue. check you facts.

  • @blvskyy i'm glad at least some people can see things this way

  • Boeing, as good as it gets! The Co the people and the product

  • @TheFsJunkie I agree, there should be more to being an engineer than just looking at one aspect of the problem in hand. Part of the reason that engineering is not advancing exponentially is that companies and goverments are soley concentrating on the immediate returns and not the long term advancements. It makes me sick that patriotism could cloud someones judgement so much that they can't give credit where it's due. I love 747's but they're no more impressive to me slightly bigger crt TV now

  • @blvskyy The arguement goes much deeper than that Its a nearly 50 year old design, not a bad thing but also not a good thing. A good comparison is the porche 911, it hasn't really changed much in 40 years ( if it aint broke don't fix it right?) But then you are always stuck with the limitations that are inherent within the design. I personally admire a company that is willing to take many risks to not only increase their future profits but to also bring advancements within their industry.

  • @blvskyy Bravo!!

  • @Thekingswa747

Actually it's "Queen of the skies", but king is good too :P

  • The 747 is an icon and it is the best passenger plane ever and it's getting better it will always be KING OF THE SKIES
