Tactical Road Crossing

For the subscribers (as I don't know how else you would come across this). I have had a few questions about doing "creative" work in addition to filming reality. This is a quick example I had sitting on the system of a project needing b-roll so we came up with a scenario, choreographed it and then filmed it as a little mini-scene in about 2 hours. Then, if anything looked good we could pull those shots out as filler for larger projects later.

So this is a "tactical road crossing", and we had been given some demo HD prime lenses from Canon to play with and wanted to see how cinematic we could make the scene look. Most of this was shot wide open to push the limit of the Panasonic HPX500 camera I was shooting on as well as play with depth of field, and then see what was left to manipulate with in color correction (hence the really harsh blown-out look). My buddy was shooting long distance shots on a second HPX500 using a Canon HD 21X Lens (if you watch with a sharp eye you can see the difference in the shade/contrast characteristics of the lens when those shots come up).

Anyway, just something you might find interesting, let me know what you think.

Man this looks great I've played many of your videos tons of times. This may be just me but the soldiers seem to be in the grit of the war. The guns on the other hand look like they came fresh from the armory. May just be me and it seems very minor as the video itself still seems very impressive well done.
