Welcome to the Pulse Three-Point-Nineteen: In this episode we showcase a user sharing excellent advice for expecting parents, parents with newborns and first time parents.
Isis Parenting in the greater Boston area offers a wide range of childbirth, prenatal, pregnancy and new parenting classes for new and expecting parents -- And now they're sharing their insight through video with icyou.
One Isis expert, Pediatric Physical Therapist Heather Woodruff shares her tips and techniques on playing [more]with a very young baby. In this video, she sings two songs that help babies develop balance and concentrate on a stimulant. Heather also talks about what kinds of toys are most effective in helping young babies develop fine motor skills.
One challenge for parents is finding the time for daily activities with a new baby around. Early Parenting Instructor Nicole Lewis shares a series of information all about babywearing. Babywearing provides the opportunity to hold your baby close to you while leaving your hands free to do other things.
In this video, Nicole shares specific benefits of babywearing. She says wearing your baby allows the baby to bond, feel secure, and provides them with a sense of who the mother is. Nicole also talks about how according to some studies, babies that are held close cry 40 to 50 percent less. Holding your baby can be exhausting -- so the carrier is twofold - it gives your baby less opportunity to cry and gives parents more freedom to go about their day.
Isis Parenting also talks about the benefits of new parent groups. New Parent Groups are simply a gathering of first time, second time or any parents who just had a baby. A second time mother and program leader share positive experiences with other parents going through similar life changes.
In this video, pediatrician Jessica Smith talks about her participation in Isis' First Time Mom's Group, Next Step Parenting Group, Weekend seminars and finally the Second Time Mom's Group. She especially loved the opportunity to get out of the house and ease the feelings of isolation she experienced when becoming a new mom. She encourages other parents to go online and look for opportunities to join a new parent group similar to those at Isis.

Please, whatever you do, if you are the expecting parent of a boy, do NOT get him circumcised. Protect your little boy from circumcision at all costs. If you truly love him, you will not permanently damage his penis like millions of males have done to them every year.
Please, end circumcision. Your son and billions of men in the future will thank you for using your brain...
