Also you mention wanting to use a bigger turbo later on. Research and hit the S10 forums. Others have tired this learn from their mistakes (it is way cheaper!) Everyone seems to forget about fuel delivery on these at home builds. If you run to lean you can expect detonation which can destroy the bottom end of your engine block (pistions, rods, crank, etc...) quite easily.
Just commenting to help out the owner of this truck. If you pause the video at 8-9 seconds and look at the exhaust you can see that you have "Y" section in it. All of the pressure that should be going to the turbo to "spin" or "spool" it up is going out of the exhaust tip. Remove the "Y" section, have the exhaust pipe connect directly to the turbo, add the tip to the exhaust side of the turbo. Check out the site howstuffworks for turbo basics.
The only problem is you Maf, it wasnt designe to have forced turbulant air blowing thru it. So you have to make sure you have atleast 1-2ft of straight pipe going into the maf, noe corners/bend before it, or it wil mess upthe signal. You can actually take one of those tornado fuel saver things, and put it a fot or 2 from the MAF, they help. If not the turbulant air thru the maf will make it run like crap. The only othere thing to do is get a blow-thru maf, or put maf on the turbo inlet.
same with the pipe dia' from the turbo to the intake, keep it smaller like 2.25 up tlll the engine were you can open it gradually to 3" to fit in the intake. Once again, the same principal. Since the air has to travel farther with a rearmount, you want a smaller dia' to keep the velocity up, and turbulance down
oh yea, take the cat and muffler off, and feed the turbo with strait pipe back, like 3'' dia. would be good. No bigger then 3", no smaller then 2.25. The smaller dia; actually helps keep the exhasut hot and flowing along back to the turbo.
no wonder it wont build boost. Dosent mater how small the turbo, but when you have and exhaust blowing out beffore the turbo thats a problem. Put the wastegate rite befor the turbo, block of that other useless sidepipe, and i gurentte youll build boost. As long as you hook up all the vacum/boost rubber control lines to control the wastegate. Do some reseach on diagrams/info how to hookup a w.gate and turbo lines, turbo setups in general.
@bobzilla9p0 I was thinking the same thing... No wonder it won't build boost. LOL

@bobzilla9p0 very true, but if a guy knows how to mess with map iat and oxy sensors it all comes out like a knife through butter :D
