use a high volume, it sounds crazy! a bit alien like.

A solid state teslacoil is a device that generates high voltages using tesla's resonance theory. basically its a transformer with a few windings primary and a very high number secondary. in my case 7 primary and 750 secondary.

This transformer only works when the right (resonance) frequency is applied at the primary. When applied correctly, a tremendous voltage will be genereted at the secondary coil (the 750 windings). which in my case has reached a maximum of 131.000 volts. these high voltages will couse the air to conduct locally, what you can see as corona. The electricity is actually coming off the tip.

When the air comes in conductance, it will heat up and expand rapidly like a ligtningbolt, but smaller. this generates vibrations in the air, also known as sound.

By switching this device on and off at the frequency of sound (20- 20KHz), you can actually make diffrent hearable tones on this device.

When an audio signal is used to interrupt this teslacoil, that sound will become hearable by the corona switchin on and off.

The sound you hear is actually comming fom the corona you hear!!

Have fun waching:)

  • whats with the three knobs on the control box? the mini sstc only has two

  • @MadScientist1011 this is an older version. The interrupter circuit still works on a 9V battery here. The switch is used to turn the circuit on and off so the battery doesn't drain.

  • ...Trippy.

  • pretty awesome bro

kinda looks like the artifact from eureka

  • @xm07 It transform in to BIG MAC?

    That my imagination. =))))))p

  • It's pretty bad idea to run it at so high power ... you can actually hear how pressure is rising and the temperature ... I've tried this with light bulb and result was - well I thing you can imagine yourself what happened :D

  • Now I know how where the producers of the Matrix movies got their sounds from ;)

  • @kasteman1 Same... lol.

  • I kept thinking after 0:12 that the globe was going to slowly melt. I know it wouldn't ever happen, but it sure seemed that way.

  • nice............
