Trainer Dies At Sea World Orlando. Killed By A Killer Whale. (2.24.10)

A killer whale trainer was killed by a whale that was housed at the Shamu exhibit. This whale has been linked with 2 other deaths, bringing his total death count to three. I wonder what they do with whales that have a record of acting out. Do they put them down like they would a pit bull? Or, is there a way to retire him so he can't hurt anyone else?

It happened after Dine w/Shamu. Tillikum didn't do it in anger - he did so to play. Whales can't comprehend that humans can't breathe under water nor know their own strength. He did not reach up and grab her. She was knee-deep in the water, laying down, he grabbed her by her pony tail into the water to PLAY. The 1st incident was an untrained employee who Tillikum felt was going to harm his calf. 2nd: man who got in & died from hypothermia. They kill to eat; he has never ate a human.

wasnt the 2nd guy who broke into the park actually found on the whales back? i wonder if Tilikum was trying to save him.. antway, none of this is the whales fault.
