For all those banging on about this not being a "dutch roll", I'm going to ask if you've ever been to the Netherlands? Have you smoked in a coffee shop there? Most people I met during my visits there roll a joint in a similar way to this video.
I prefer the Danish method of rolling a cone joint - although it isn't necessarily Danish it is very popular in Christiania and I was taught from a "stall vendor" on Pusher St.

If you wanted to roll a real dutch joint you would turn the paper inside out and lick the joint and rip off the excess paper.
Didn't you pack it/shake it too much, so that you had to suck really hard to get a satisfying amount of smoke into your lungs? And why did you heat it in the end of the tutorial? :) Otherwise a nice joint, tho!

@Maurn1337 That's a VERY good question! Actually, it doesn't make it so tight that it's difficult to start up or puff on, it just makes the smoke richer. Try it, I don't think you'll have a problem filling your lungs :)
Heating the paper is just this weird thing I do :P it just tightens up the paper to help make the burn smoother.

That's an American cone lol. Americans, for some reason, do their roaches (filter) just a bit too short, and way too fat. It should be twice as thin at the filter end and twice as fat as that (or fatter) at the head. Try using about half the length of card to roll your filter with, you will produce a much better cone.

@TelevisedChaos That's a great tip, thank you! I've noticed that the shapes of filter tips in the US is not the same as the European roaches, and I do prefer the kind I've used in Holland. Since they finally began selling roaches in US smoke shops a few years ago, I suppose I've become accustomed to the shape :P

@TelevisedChaos I've been trying it the way you suggested, and it does work much better! Thanks again!

@thesaac24 You must be referring to the fact that I didn't roll the paper backwards, with the glue on the bottom of the paper facing down. In my experiences in The Netherlands, not all Dutch people roll this way, though many of them do. This method was actually taught to me by the owner of my favorite coffeeshop in Amsterdam.
If you prefer to roll that way, the instructions remain the same except for the direction the glue faces, then burning or tearing the excess paper at the end.
