Lotusland is a unique 37-acre estate and botanic garden situated in the foothills of Montecito to the east of the city of Santa Barbara, CA. The gardens now covering the estate were created by Madame Ganna Walska, who owned the property from 1941 until her death in 1984. Before her death, Madame Walska established the nonprofit Ganna Walska Lotusland Foundation, which now preserves this unrivaled botanical treasure.

If you are interested in more information regarding Lotusland, please go to their website. There you will find out all you could like to know about this unique property, complete with the History of ALL the owners and how this property got started.

NOTE: After watching this vid, I think I need to set a setting on my video camera. Everything looks so "gloomy" and it was a bright sunny day! Hope you enjoy the gardens! There are so many of them and so much to see, there is not nearly enough time to do these 37-acres justice! (Especially not when it's gloomy looking and my shaky video!)

  • Great video but where are all the lotuses?

  • Ha! I wondered the same thing! I guess they must have been there somewhere, right?? Or maybe it got it's name for a "feel" of peace there? Now you have me wondering again about it! :-) Thank you for your time watching and leaving a comment. I appreciate it...:-)

  • Great video Cayln. This was packed full of wonderful video shots. Perfect editng.

And that music (that you gave no credit)

    Outstanding job.

  • YAY!! My stalker has returned...:-)

Thanks Randy! I can't remember the name of the song, but it is Sinead O'conner, and I cut it all up to make it work here. LOL It is an amazing place! If you have never been there, it is a MUST!! :-)

  • I have been there. Great place. I wanted to live there.

  • hahaha So did I!! As I was walking around I kept thinking, now THIS is a dream place...I think I'll move in...LOL When I heard of the cost for up keep, that kinda killed the idea. Even if they gave it to me, I couldn't afford it...:-(

  • It was the PERFECT day to be there! Beautiful blue skies and sunny. This video doesn't do this place justice. If you ever get out to CA, you really must go there! Madame Walska was a very interesting person with an amazing life. She never lived in the big 10,000 sq. ft. home as she used it for storage and lived in the "guest house". Of course the majority of her time was spent in the magnificent gardens! I would LOVE to have this as my back yard! :-)

  • Thanks for making the video.

I think I have just seen My idea of Heaven! I really mean that! I was right there as soon as the video started. Madame Walska must have been an amazing person. Evrything I saw, I loved, and would love to do the same.

Knowing how videos usually appear, it must have been a beautiful day. If not for 500 word limit I could comment forever!lol

I can't believe I never heard of Lotusland! Thanks for the link to the website.

  • I'm glad I used this song as I am graced with the presence of the Pope from time to time! :-) xx
