Have You Seen the New Channels?

YouTubes blog link has been removed from our channels but BetaChannelTakedown posted the address in one of his videos: http://www.youtube.com/blog?entry=gp6Wr8yTSvY click through and comment in this blog even if you like the new channel layout. You can sign the "YouTube beta channels should remain optional" petition at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/stop-youtube-beta-channels The YouTube Blackout will start on July 14th.To participate, just DO NOT log onto YT on July 14th. Be sure to spread the word about the blackout in the blog as well as through PMs,comments,and videos all over YT.The Blackout will be canceled if the staff respond to us. We are being herded to videos chosen by YouTube staff. In the new channel format the videos all play on the same page not a watch page. I use the related video tab for most of my surfing. Their new set up herds us to videos chosen by YouTube because you have to click out to either your own channel or YouTube links to their Home, Shows, Channels and Videos pages.

YouTube staff member Brian Glick recently posted a blog entry in the YouTube Blog (which headline reads Broadcasting Ourselves a sign of the dictatorship YouTube is becoming), they announced that the recently released Beta Channels (originally released as a hidden feature, then as a test) is NOW being forced onto all YouTube users on July 15th. The community has spoken, and I mean they HAVE SPOKEN! 50,000 comments and counting, 99% of them being against the idea, the other 1% being for the idea. Brian Glick must be sweating under the collar if he's read these comments, because they are BRUTAL. Keep it up folks, maybe we can change YouTube's controversial decision and put the You back in YouTube. :-)
Not only do we fight off the Beta channel, we have now expanded into other areas of YouTubes continuing changes.
Also, please notice that I had no intentions of using the Beta channel, but apparently new users are forced to use the Beta design, whether they want it or not. And dont tell me I can switch, because I'm aware of the Revert! I want my old channel back button; but that thing doesnt work, it only takes me right back to the Beta channel
Some things YouTube has done against our decision and the result:
- Removed bulletins, replaced with Recent Activity
- Copyright restrictions, WAY stricter than they used to be
- Video thumbnails no longer at the 25/50/75 points, now they pick the thumbnails
- YouTube header changed; harder to navigate than before
- Videos with inappropriate content cannot be in the Featured sections
- And finally, the ugly Beta layouts
YouTubers have had enough. Lets do something about it, and put YouTube in its place Remember how everything was BEFORE Google bought YouTube? Lets return the peace, take the Goo out and put the You in!
