@nofmonterey Very true- no doubt because his childhood was so absolutely hellish. He had seven siblings, only one of whom lived to adulthood. His parents dumped in the Baltimore Industrial Home when he was only 7- and never went to see him.

That's a pretty priceless piece of film; the Babe at his final Christmas. He knew he was short on time. But to continue to represent himself in that manner without looking for sympathy-well, that's pretty special.

Sad, very close to the end for the Babe. He was such a giving person when it came to children.
