@JVbin - No direct historical basis for the sketch, although Victoria was rather keen on physical intimacy, contrary to what modern mythology would have us believe. I think my interest in the Victorian period has only heightened my enjoyment of this brilliant M&W piece, and it has to be my personal favourite of all time. I don't think comedy gets any better than this.

Oh my this is so funny. I'm still laughing. Thank you for posting this.

I'd love to know if there was an actual (though obviously quite loose) historical basis for this sketch? Did Queen Victoria actually say something like this? I know that's the whole joke that she would say something like this, BUT it would explain the sheer frustration & rage with which Mitchell wrote/delivered that glorious rant. That's one way of making a DM Rant even more classic... Setting in the 19th Century. LMFAO

He makes a disturbingly convincing Queen Victoria!

BBC .. That Mitchell and Webb Look .. British humor in the Monty Python tradition...

every park.. every summer is going to smell of cum hahahahaha

Had those trees in my old neighborhood, I'm glad I'm not crazy. Smelled like fish vaginas, I swear.
-
Do Linden Trees really smell of cum?
-
"WHAT has been the point? What really, has been the point of the last 50 years of my being a Victorian, if Queen Victoria herself, is suddenly gonna sidle over, and ask me, CAN I SMELL CUM?!?" HAHA! That is SO my favourite line! David rules! X'D

I didn't know Queen Victoria's height was only 5 foot ("During the last years of her life in the 1890's the Queen's height was 4 ft 7 in") LOL!
