  • Hello, I just finished "Called Out of Darkness" yesterday. The scene of the statue of Christ in Rio was very moving. Christ always waiting for us, it's us who don't see it. Get well soon-I just read on your website that you have been sick. I know the book was about your return to the Catholic church, but you skipped over your novels and Stan's death. Everything is a factor of your coming back to the church and Christ. Best wishes and I understand you and your works better now. Mark

  • Thanks. Maybe I have another memoir in me about the adventure of being an author. Don't know. And maybe one about all the people I lost. Not sure.

  • Your father sounds like a funny eccentric man, Mrs. Rice! =P

It must run in the family. I was saying the other day, "If it's strange, new, and exciting, trust Anne Rice to write it."

i beleive that, I really do. You must be tired of hearing this, but after I read Memnoch, the Devil for the first time yesterday, something occured to me - I had never heard of the Veil of Veronica before. You opened up a whole new concept for me, and I thank you for that with all my heart!

  • Thanks. Quite a lore surrounds the Veil of Veronica. It is a beautiful story, beautiful concept, and has led to great art as well as devotion. Anne.

  • Actually the first Christians were heavily persecuted by the Romans. When it becames the officialreligion of the Empire, the heads of the Church adopted pagans symbol and trasvetite them to recruit new believer. The trident of Poseidon became the weapon of satan. Valentine Day was an orgy in Ancient Rome, a "fertility festival" of sort. They used pagans symbol to draw to pagans to Christianity

  • fuzzygoddess, Lestat would vomit (of course, he's fake, so what does it matter?), but God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and all the saints and angels in heaven are cheering!

  • @Aphradonis. I don't think I could ever be truly

    Uhappy without Christ

  • @SharonDuke1 I hope you see the other side. I did. It took me my entire adolescence, but I did. I "knew" Christ was real, but now I know he's not. I was one of those hardcore Christians who said he'd never budge. But I did. It can happen to anyone. You can be happy without Christ.

  • I hope she comes back to Christ. I question the Church and it's decisions also but I know my Jesus is there no matter what. I am a Christian and I love Anne Rice. books. God Bless.

  • How could her dad name her Howard? lol

  • I wish you would try a relationship with Jesus...not just a catholic church that has disappointed you. Keep looking... Staying out of darkness is the right path....I recently hear you have turned your back....Now things you know....Have a relationship... don't worry about specific issues of 2010... learn/ relearn the fundamentals....This back and forth-...What do we believe from you Anne? You jumping back on the popularity of Vampire novels-- going with the money????

  • Someones ass?

  • wasnt christmas itself derivative of pagan religions, in some aspects? Im, a christian myself, but wont deny certain origins

  • To me Anne is like Shakespear, and the great writers. She has that same ayre about her writing and herself.
