KAYZER PEDAL DEMO - The biggest metal guitar effect pedal shootout at youtube! 24 different pedals, one guitar, one amp, the same riffs and tweaked as close together as possible to give you an idea how those pedals compare.
@DemoColorScheme I tested it with an engl Powerball, there it soundet bad .. but the amp reaaly liked to get boosted with an Dod250, my alltime favourite booster/overdrive.
Weird. Well, I experienced the opposite. I always turned up the treble a bit and turned down the bass. Best booster I ever had. It was almost always on because of what it did to the amp it was in front of (old Fender Champ).
What are you talking about ... ? You do know it has a dedicated Booster mode, right? It's a clean boost with a 2 band EQ. Set the high and low at 12 O' clock and you've got a regular clean boost. How can that be unusable?
That's good for you, but we're talking about the FZ-2. It's not a shitty pedal, but it just doesn't work for riffing. The ring-modish tone this unit has is quite unique and I've never seen so much output with a booster, besides the fact that it actually has a 2-band EQ, opposed to the boosters you mentioned.

@DemoColorScheme i personally hate the FZ-2, yes it has high output, but the sound it produces is extremely unusable to use as a booster in my eyes.
You can add an EQ to every booster easily ;)

@DemoColorScheme To boost i use 3 different types of boosters
Clean: Zvex Super hard on
Overdrive: Mxr Microamp
Distortion (drive my overdriven amp into madness) Electro harmonix linear power booster
I build them myself, so i dont have to look on the price, every single booster costet around 25€ for me.

People often forget its awesome booster. One of the best I've ever used and that's why I owned this pedal for a long time.
