But I'm only 12 years old - and I'm old enough not to stoop to personal insults! We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Bye-bye.

And YOUR analogies of BBC and Beckham are just as basic, not to mention tenuous. I think someone who has such a fixation on "The Innocents" really is not going to be open to new ideas such as this anyway; your mind is not really young enough to cope.

I understand you perfectly. It's just that your rather basic fruit and football analogies can't explain how the BBC made such a hash of their adaptation when much of it was clearly intended to be a homage to 'The Innocents'.
buffscrag 2 years ago
Yes I think you don't understand the analogy, don't worry. How is David and the Achilles? Still injured?
ednuttah 2 years ago
Quite right - the BBC's poor attempt at 'Turn of the Screw' is not in Beckham's league at all.
buffscrag 2 years ago
One is 1961 the other is 2009. I think that is a little unfair. That's the equivalent of me saying I think Bobby Charlton is vastly superior to David Beckham, both are footballers!
ednuttah 2 years ago
Both are adaptations of 'Turn of the Screw', so the comparison is entirely valid.

Yes I have. But that is like comparing Apples to Pears or Oranges.
