On Thursday I did a pottery class at a place called Jam Garden.
http://www.jamgarden.com/

I really enjoyed it - partly because I love playing with clay, and also because the teacher was really nice and I enjoyed talking to her.

Check this out if you want to take a class there:

By the way, you need to be able to speak Japanese to do it - or at least take a Japanese speaker with you.

  • Thanks for posting this. I like the method you used, half hand-building and half wheel-throwing. The pot turned out well.

  • Thank you :)

  • I love those little wheels. Were they made of stone or something?

  • Hmmm, good question, I'm not sure what they're made of.

  • I suppose it has to be a color like pink to distract the eye from seeing the tea itself. I believe green tea doesn't look so nice, as far as I can remember.

  • Nooooo ... it looks beautiful! Well, to me it does. I studied tea ceremony for 2 years so I guess I look at it differently.
