We tested Cricket Wireless 3G Broadband Internet on our MacBook Pro using the Cricket UM185C modem. The website we used for the test was http://www.SpeedTest.net The test was conducted in San Diego, CA at Balboa Park.

Speed Test Results:
0.5-0.6mbps download
0.16-0.27mbps upload

@707sk8r It depends on where you are. To get better service you might try getting a USB extender cable and moving the antenna around. I haven't needed to do this personally but I've talked to people who it really helped. The cable is around $2-$5usd at Fry's or other reasonable electronic retailers (not bestbuy).

You get what you pay for and for $40 a month that's really not bad your saving $480 over the 2 year contract you would have to sign with Verizon or one of the other national carriers plus you don't have to pay the monthly bill you decide you don't want it, and honestly how many of us really use our mobile broadband every single day? Thank you for the comments & positive feedback. I completely agree and that's the main point of the video. As a "temporary" wireless solution and for certain situations IE: Occasional Business Traveler, it works great.

Whatever, Cricket is crap! Dont matter how many bars you have on there...i got four bars and slower than the crappiest dialup I've ever had! Forget about talkin to customer service unless you are multilingual since they are all from overseas and with bad accents! Im definitely ditchin this piece of crap!
