My son has a red ear slider and I thought about putting in a mud puppy, but at $20 bucks that's crazy. Nice vid.

Red ear sliders generally get up to 9-12 inchs for females. Males 5-9inchs . Keep in mind that they grow fast and a good rule of thumb is per inch of shell = ea 10 gallons.

how big do red eared sliders usually get .... im thinking about getting a couple... male and female.... would they produce a lot of offspring??

@dtveit one basic way to identify gender in almost all turtles is that the female will have a solid flat base on the shell while the male's shell will be a little sunken in at the base so it will be easier for him to mount.

Nice meal time video. I haven't a clue whether it's a boy or a girl, but it sure is a lively turtle. A person named Nipa said mine was female because of its size and she had a shorter tail, but I have nothing to compare it to, so I don't know if that helps.

my turtle is about the same size at it is in the video and i know its a girl not a boy. she is around 6 inches long
