Duh...Of ourse. Supercharging an M3 will of course be a monster. Gut guess what, this one isn't and most of them aren't. It's like saying, "I raced a 997 turbo the other day and lost, but I would have beat him if I had a Veyron."

  • i know 1000hp honda civics can beat ferraris in a straight line. 335 will never look or sound as good as a m3. any car can be turned into a drag race monster, even a school bus. put both cars on the track and see what happens.

  • @luckeycraig The 335i is built by BMW to be a performance orientated car. I've spent £1000 or probably less on upgrading the handling of 335i (Fully adjustable suspension, 12mm wheel spacers, poly bushes) and I can keep up with e92 M3s round the track - I've never had a problem in the 1.5 years I've had the car this way.

  • @Lolly456 Not really. Not on a stock 3 series turbo/motor. You can do anything to any car, duh. But Fact is the M// series is specifically built by BMW to be a better car overall and especially for performance. Period. New M3 is going back to the i6 motor just like my e46 M3! It will me stock bi turbo 450hp, possible tri-turbo with 500hp. But its coming 2013 baby. M/// power!

  • @philc80 An M3 with a Gintani Stage 2 supercharger is completely unmatched by an any 335 on the planet. There is no replacement for displacement.

A 335 is just another turbocharged car while the M3 has a special engine made to lap around the track without ever going into limp mode or overheating.

  • @philc80 And I hope and am sure you are not that stupid to realize that just about ANY car with a turbocharged steroid fed engine can be fast at the cost of reliability and regular limp modes (don't make me post all of the thousands of HPFP issues that have plagued the N54 engines). If that is what truly made a comparison then the 500 whp STi my friend has would be the greatest car on the planet for only $50K all.

  • @StrokedP if u read the forums its actually 512. but hey whos counting.

  • @comacow02 its 480hp hoss

  • @Lolly456 lost marine has a 500 whp rob beck turbo 335i. search 335 vs gallardo hehehe.

  • @luckeycraig There are plenty of 500+ WHEEL horse power 335s, and 135s without any problems - in actual fact I believe, but I could be wrong, there is someone on n54tech.com who's 100k+ miles running 490whp FBO + meth.

  • @luckeycraig You got it! Adding on, if I may; The E92 M3's V8 engine (S65) is 33 lbs LIGHTER than the E46 M3's inline 6 engine (S54). So the extra weight most likely comes from a beefed up driveline and suspension. But it does make 22% more power. Thus making the E92 M3 faster that the E46 M3, despite about 300 lbs more weight! Also, the larger engine has more power potential due to it's displacement advantage. Being a "hotrod" type person, I hate seeing the V8 go, it has more HP potential!

  • @luckeycraig 46-60k??? 46k 335i comes from bmw fresh off the line. And an autowercks turbo kit can boost an m3 500 hp at 12k. Your numbers are off and exaggerated.
