I agree with the 2 previous posts-we were the most loyal fans in the country but now we just abuse the club and it shouldn't be like that. We should stick by the club no matter what happens and if you dont want to then dont fucking come to Upton Park.Apart from the 1980 Cup Final that was the best day I've ever had supporting West Ham!!
When we got back to London we popped into our local and got a standing ovation from Arsenal and Tottenham supporters and that completed the day for me!!
Spot on my friend...jeez how i yearn to return to those days; if we were never the best team in the world at least we always took solace in being the best supporters. Sign o the times I guess.
Echo the goosebumps for this one...cracks me up how often Hammers fans on various websites ask where to get this game on DVD; a 4-0 drubbing in a semi-final, yet still stirs the blood just coz of the fans!Fucking unique fans, that's for sure!
Correction, mate, that's what being a West Ham fan USED to be about. Now it's all about shouting abuse at your own players and getting on the back of the manager as soon as results go slightly wrong. I wish for a return to old days where West Ham fans were as loyal and supportive of this and don't understand why people pay to berate their own players. You are supporters, not detractors. Jeez!
I was there too....4-0 down and we sung our hearts out...that's what real support is all about. We would have won if it wasn't for Hackett sending Tony Gale off.WEST HAM ROCK!!
Boring....... YOU REDS !!!

my proudest day as a west ham supporter(other than 1980)
we lost 4-0,sung our hearts out and walked out
of the ground as if we'd won...as soon as they
took away our terraces the game died.its like going to a concert now,no passion

That's amazing. It sounds like they're playing at Upton Park. Where are the Forest fans?
