@RSpyman Quad core is a necessity in 2011, I can play pretty much every game so far maxed and got 50-70 fps on BF3 at 1080p. 1200x1000 is pretty small so you shouldn't have a problem with any of those cards if you want to save money.

I'm buying a new pc in few days (less than a week i hope)
An i5 2500k and 4gb ddr3 of ram.
The motherboard is chosen and it's the p67-gd55. and a 650w psu!
now tell me please. should i buy the gtx550ti coolstream oc edition.
Or pay more and get a gtx560 (not ti) ? or the ati 6870 (same price as gtx560)
Could you also tell me if getting a quad core in 2011 is a good idea.
did you find difficulties running certain games on your config ?
PS: playing on 1200x1000.

@DoctorFailgood lol no kidding, i'm drooling watching this on my 2003-build rig (p4 2.4ghz/2gig/gf7600gt agp). but i'm planning to build a new rig soon. don't know if i should wait for dx11 :-s
