AG Classic Week continues! Here is the last old video I repost before I begin my venture into new territory with new videos and my new website.

This was my entry into the 48 Hour Film Project 2007- San Diego.

Mandatory Character: Alex Gomm, County Employee
Mandatory Prop: Spoon
Dialogue: Keep that thing away from me!
Genre: Spy

This is the first video I have ever written and directed without prior film experience other than reading film books. It's not that good, and the original was even worse... AND it was shown in a movie theater to a large group of people (Landmark Hillcrest Cinemas). It was truly a humbling experience seeing my creation on the big screen, even if it did suck. Remember, I dived into this head first.

At the 48 Hour Film Project, you have to write, direct, shoot, edit, and make the entire video/film under 8 minutes long, with a mandatory line of dialogue, and a mandatory prop -- and do it within 48 hours. I figured if I'm going to learn how to make videos and movies, I may as well jump in immediately. This was the result, and I learned so much from that experience I hope to do it again soon. Listening to the audience laugh at the actual jokes and performances... as well as my countless mistakes, taught me so much.

I don't think you'll ever learn how to make movies/videos unless you just do it. No matter how much a book can teach you, actually making something and collaborating with others is the ultimate teacher.
