We need shows like this again.

Nice clip. Unfortunately its full impact is ruined by the fact that whoever put this clip up decided to omit the bit at the end where Humphrey Appleby declares that the people in that room represent the diversity of the people of Britain, only to get the synchronized nods of agreement roomful of middle aged white men in reply. I guess certain truths need to be...whitewashed, hm?

The depressing thing is now we have (some) women in positions of power and nothings changed. Turns out being a man or a woman has no impact on how inept or incompetant you are at running a country... or a bank.

@Halldisa Whilst I understand men have their shortcomings, women have next to nothing. The fact is pretty much every advance has been from man.
-
@Halldisa No I am saying what the guy above me just said we're probably better off without elitest like these running the world!
-
@DLPBurke yeah if women were in charge the world would be a mess. wars, death, destruction of our planet would ensue
-
@2490debrick sorry, are you saying that being agay is reason not to employ someone? To be honest I would be stressed if I had to work with a bigotted dick head like you, but I think in the end you are more stressed and an unhappy person with such a depressing opinion

The irony of this is it's true! Married woman in the work place unless they are between the ages of 40/50 are useless always ill or kid problems etc and unmarried women who try too hard are either lesbians or always ill due to stress and wanting a baby!
-
@truvianni Somehow, you answered and echoed @VigilanteAgumon's point about the irony.
politicians and civil servants, they always agree with the principle :P
Yes minister is one of the great BBC comedies, it amuses me that the issues they were discussing in the Thatcher era are still hot topics today :P
