Can anyone give me the real musical name for the type of vamp (?) accompaniment he's playing during the opening verse of this? If there is a technical name for it. I want to learn how to do it, but don't know how to explain it in words.
This comment of mine was actually supposed to go with the "Five Foot Two" video (of this set) where it would have been more fitting.
About this video, I would comment on Adam's fantastic improvising apropos '20's Early Jazz! If you haven't played his solo version (youtube vid) of "Bill Bailey" with which he won a 5th award from the Old Time Piano Playing Contest in Peoria in June '09, you should compare this with that. It is super.
