New Toyota Prius Teaser

This is the third-generation Prius which gains an all-new platform. Hmm. Curious how its basic footprint and overall shape is almost identical to the outgoing model. Nonetheless, the bodywork manages to be better-looking, lighter and more aerodynamic overall, while the reshaped roof improves rear headroom. The engine grows from 1.6 litres to 1.8 litres, but because it produces more torque its more economical overall. The Hybrid Synergy Drive system is smaller and lighter than before, while ride quality, refinement and handling have all been improved. Solar-powered air conditioning, LED exterior lighting and possible plug-in capability are amongst the innovations in the new Prius, but we have no word on European specification just yet.
