ITV50 was very disappointing, they ignored the regional company system and the IBA and acted as it ITV plc. had existed all along (They referred to TV-am as 'ITV's breakfast programme' and chose not to mention the fact that it was a TV company)

Those darn keyboards....love how Lucy was exact in what buttons to press whereas John just presses any button!
That set (and the keyboards!) were gone within seven months.

If ITV want to get rid of its heritage, then fine, but it is at their loss by pretending these companies Yorkshire TV, LWT etc. and most importantly Granada TV didn't exist. It did exist, and for the vast majority it will always be remembered for how superior it was to ITV in the 21st century

why didnt they use a still of the ITV 50 Granada ident which was produced for regional junctions in this report :=o

Elton Welsby - Legend.
It's odd that they covered this on Granada, because Granada didn't go on air until 1956, only Rediffusion and ATV were on air in 1955.

All ITV regions covered the whole 'ITV50' thing, all of them ran an hour long programme to celebrate ITV in their region. When Granada turned 50 in 2006 all they got was a cake on Granada Reports.
